Single Tooth Implant

A dental implant is a device approved and regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that provides support for a single missing tooth. Dental implants are the only dental restoration option that preserves natural bone, actually helping to stimulate bone growth. Dental implants are the closest you can get to healthy, natural teeth. They allow you to live the way you want to – confidently eating, smiling, laughing, talking, kissing and enjoying all of your everyday activities without worrying about your teeth.

Why do you have to replace your teeth?

Missing teeth are unhealthy for your mouth, consequently there are many reasons why you have to replace your teeth.

  • Maintain your facial symmetry. When you lose a tooth, it can change the look of your face, that means the size and shape of your jaw and facial structure.
  • Preserve natural tooth spacing and alignment. As you lose teeth, they shift in order to fill in the gap and have a domino effect. This can cause you a change in bite and jaw alignment and a lot of problems.
  • Prevent gum disease. When gums are exposed, it’s easy for food and bacteria to infect them. Infection is often followed by gum disease, which has been linked to both heart disease and diabetes.
  • Avoid speech and eating issues. With a dental implant you should not experience any issues with speech and normal chewing is restored, as well as the ability to eat any foods you wish.

All-On-4 Implants

All-on-4®. All-on-4 or All-on-6 is an alternative to placing a top or bottom set of replacement teeth, called a full arch. Four or Six dental implants are placed in available bone, avoiding the need for bone grafting. Special abutments are used so that a temporary set of replacement teeth can be placed the same day. You follow a modified diet while the gum tissues heal and the implants bond with your natural bone. After about four to six months or more, the permanent replacement teeth will be placed and you can resume a regular diet.

Why an All-on-4 or All-on-6 Bridge?

This will provide a better and healthier smile for you. There is no need for an individual implant to be set in each missing tooth. Instead, the implants work together to support a streamlined bridge that spans the length of the entire arch of teeth. All-on-4 and All-on-6 implants are an innovation that makes implants easier than ever, restoring your functional bite, so you can once again eat all the foods you need and enjoy.

In either of these method options, x-rays, and impressions will be taken to determine the best placement. Among other factors, the dentist will measure bone density and quality, as well as the shape and facial structure to ensure the implants chosen will fit properly.

  • An entire arch of teeth only requires four or six strategically placed implants. The procedure can also be completed in just one day. The treatment is much smoother, and the recovery is much faster.
  • The All-on-6 Method requires more bone and more bone strength than an All-on-4. Still, six implants better distribute the pressure between points when the jawbone is lacking in density or quantity.
  • The All-on-4 and All-on-6 methods typically work best for those who need replacements all in the upper or all on the lower jaw.
